Method – The Negro Leagues Collection Hand Printed Tags and Look Book
Method was a fine men’s clothier in downtown Kansas City when I did this work. They had designed and released a new collection of clothes named after a few players or iconic figures from the Negro Leagues, relating to the Negro Leagues Museum here in Kansas City, but frankly the project was ahead of its time considering the development of local culture in Kansas City. The whole brand of this line revolved around a long vintage photograph of the first Negro Leagues World Series which took place in KC in 1924. It’s a really long narrow image, so this lead to the tag design we ended up using, the look book cover, and everything related built upon this unique shape. Each garment had a special story and name and I designed a tag detailing facts about the piece’s namesake.
